Egyptian taro prepared and frozen for kitchens that need consistent pieces without the peeling labour.
Quotations are issued against your target volume, packaging specification and destination port. Minimum order quantities and loading programmes are confirmed per shipment.
Product details
Taro is a staple Egyptian root, prized for its dense, starchy flesh and nutty flavour. For export we peel, cut and blanch it before freezing, which removes the irritating calcium oxalate on the raw skin and gives a clean, ready-to-cook product.
We supply cubes, wedges or whole peeled roots, graded by size. The main quality risks are darkening after peeling and uneven cooking, so we hold the cut product in chilled water and control blanching time by piece size. Packed in 10 kg cartons for food service.
Varieties
Egyptian taro, white flesh with purple flecks.
